GIF: David Schlemko makes the shootout look easy

We’ve seen a lot of incredible shootout goals this season, but few have looked as easy as David Schlemko’s effort against the Boston Bruins. This one-handed effort is silky and smooth and completely confuses Tuukka Rask. Unfortunately, this GIF cuts off right before what was sure to be another Rask meltdown.

Video: Linus Omark tries to score an incredibly creative KHL goal

With his team enjoying a healthy 6-0 lead, Linus Omark tried to score one of the more creative goals you’ll ever see. The Jokerit forward had a ton of time behind the Dinamo Minsk goal and saw an opportunity to lift the puck in an effort to bank it off the netminder. His attempt failed, but […]

Charles Barkley loves the NHL playoffs, thinks the Coyotes suck

Retired NBA great and current basketball analyst Charles Barkley is apparently a big hockey fan. He recently spoke with Sportsnet and discussed a variety of hockey topics, including the Stanley Cup Playoffs as well as his favorite team, the Arizona Coyotes. Barkley, a guy you probably would never associate with the frozen game, actually has […]

Video: Mike Smith jumps over the puck to avoid making a save

All of the goaltending talk on Tuesday night focused on the Florida Panthers and the fact Rob Tallas was nearly called into action. Mike Smith wasn’t the center of attention, but he maybe should have been as he jumped over a shot and avoided the puck in a bizarre scene which may make fans think the […]

Hockey Fights of the Week: 2/23 – 3/1

The past week featured a ton of hot action on the ice and a boatload of trades off the ice. The action on trade day may have lacked big names, but a lot of players were moved and that’s always exciting. Unfortunately, that same excitement may not be found in this week’s edition of Hockey […]

Bruins admit cap space, high prices made it difficult to trade

The Boston Bruins made a total of three trades prior to the deadline, but fans were quick to point out that the club didn’t bring in the impact player they needed. The Bruins acquired Brett Connolly and Max Talbot as well as a couple of prospects, making the organization one of the most active at the […]

Joffrey Lupul wasn’t happy TSN ran an inappropriate Tweet

TSN’s trade deadline coverage featured Tweets from hockey fans scrolling at the bottom of the screen. You can probably guess where this story is going, but a fan sent in an inappropriate Tweet about Joffrey Lupul which made it on the air.

GIF: Ryan Reaves reaches over the officials to punch Zack Kassian

Zack Kassian punched Ryan Reaves and then probably thought he was safe when the officials came in to break things up. Reaves had the last laugh as he reached over the officials and decked Kassian in the face. Both men earned two-minute roughing penalties and 10-minute misconducts.

Sean Bergenheim breaks Nathan MacKinnon’s nose

Nathan MacKinnon’s 2014-15 is the perfect example of a sophomore slump. In his second year in the NHL, MacKinnon is poised to fall well short of matching his offensive numbers from his rookie seasons. To make matters worse, MacKinnon was on the receiving end of a brutal check from Sean Bergenheim which left MacKinnon with a […]

Dustin Penner made and defended a rape joke on Twitter

Dustin Penner is most known for his pancake injury, but his reputation (what little there is) took a big step back after he made a rape joke on Twitter. Penner isn’t currently playing in the NHL and he apparently had time for this “joke” which no one found funny. After the initial backlash started, Penner defended his […]

Jamal Mayers calls out the media over Blackhawks locker room report

There have been some pretty wild trade rumors circulating around the Chicago Blackhawks and Patrick Sharp. Though trade rumors are surrounding just about every NHL team as the deadline nears, the ones involving Sharp and the Blackhawks were a bit more personal. Numerous outlets reported that there was some serious tension in the locker room […]

Lou Lamoriello will likely remain GM of the Devils

The New Jersey Devils appear to be well on their way to missing the playoffs this season. Barring some sort of late miracle push, the Devils will miss the playoffs for the third consecutive seasons and for the fourth time in five seasons. Normally a stretch of poor play results in changes in the front […]
