USA Hockey contradicts itself by selecting Buffalo for World Junior Championship

USA Hockey is talking out of both sides of its mouth. Buffalo was recently named the host of the 2018 World Junior Championship. Along with this announcement came the news that Ralph Wilson Stadium, home of the Buffalo Bills, would host an outdoor game between the U.S. and Canada. Buffalo is an outstanding choice for the World […]

Here’s a crazy story out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Acadie-Bathurst Titan defenseman Nicolas Dumulong parked his car at K.C. Irving Regional Centre prior to his team’s game against the Saint John Sea Dogs. Shortly after exiting his vehicle and beginning to walk away, he noticed the car was moving. Dumulong tried to stop the car which […]

Voting opened for the upcoming NHL All-Star Game and some crazy names are leading such as John Scott and Rob Scuderi. While fans continue to troll the ballot, one other name is receiving a ton of votes out of respect as opposed to hilarity and that’s Jaromir Jagr. Jagr appreciates all the votes, but he […]

Video: Radko Gudas targets Mika Zibanejad’s head with a hit

Radko Gudas was trying to disrupt a shot from Mika Zibanejad and he may have gotten a bit carried away. Gudas elevated, striking Zibanejad directly in the face. The hit appeared to be pretty intentional as Gudas was rushing in straight at the Senators forward. Paging the Department of Player Safety.

Video: Garret Sparks makes getting up look freakishly easy

Garret Sparks became the first goalie in Maple Leafs history to pick up a shutout in his debut. He made some great saves, but one of the coolest moments was a non-incident in which Sparks lost his balance and fell down. Watch how he gets back up, courtesy of former goalie Martin Biron. Just … what? […]

Video: Johnny Oduya cross-checks Zach Parise in the back of the head

Fresh off Brandon Dubinsky cross-checking Sidney Crosby in the neck, Johnny Oduya provided another example of the type of plays the league needs to crack down on by cross-checking Zach Parise in the back of the head. The first check is fine, but the second into Parise’s head while he is down on the ice […]

Alexander Radulov returning to the NHL is a possibility

It’s that time of the year where rumors start picking up about Alexander Radulov returning to the NHL. Radulov being eager to become a free agent doesn’t necessarily link him directly to an NHL return, but it certainly doesn’t put any of the rumors to rest. His last stint in the NHL was in 2011-12 when […]

Ryan Getzlaf blames poor play on small crowd in Arizona

The Anaheim Ducks looked pretty flat against the Arizona Coyotes and Ryan Getzlaf had an odd excuse as to why his team was slow out of the gate. Apparently the small crowd in Arizona (11,578 people) led to a sluggish visiting Ducks squad.

Video: Ref wants no part of Boston’s celebration

Frank Vatrano tipped a puck past Petr Mrazek to give the Boston Bruins a big OT win and he immediately went over to the boards to celebrate.
