Welcome to a post-Thanksgiving edition of Hockey Fights of the Week. We hope you had a great time with family and friends and are ready to put aside all of those loving feelings for a few minutes to watch some hockey players throw some punches.
5. Brad Malone (CAR) vs Pierre-Edouard Bellemare (PHI) – Nov. 23rd
Malone is the more experienced fighter and it shows. Even when he’s spun around and backwards, Malone battled back and wins this fight by a lopsided margin.
4. Dylan McIlrath (NYR) vs Matt Beleskey (BOS) – Nov. 27th
The play which led to this fight is what hockey fans are still talking about, but the fight itself isn’t too shabby. The Rangers felt Beleskey crossed a line with his hit and McIlrath delivered a quick beating.
3. Robert Bortuzzo (STL) vs Marcus Foligno (BUF) – Nov. 23rd
Bortuzzo has a pretty sweet mustache, but that’s where the complements for him end in this fight. The ending is rather uneventful, but Foligno was able to catch Bortuzzo with some powerful blows.
2. Brandon Bollig (CGY) vs Chris Stewart (ANH) – Nov. 24th
Bollig and Stewart have a pretty colorful history. They fought once in 2013 and once in 2014. They renewed their rivalry in 2015 with a great scrap which may be one of their best. This third installment we’ll label as a tie and we can’t wait for the fourth battle between these two forwards.
1. Anthony Peluso (WPG) vs Kurtis Gabriel (MIN) – Nov. 27th
This is a great fight. Peluso is slow at the start, but he soon catches up with some powerful rights. One particular right at the end of the fight catches Gabriel flush in the face. Though both had solid showings, the one punch alone is worth a victory for Peluso.
