Bruce Boudreau calls out the Ducks for playing “stupid”

Anaheim Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau is cheesed off with his team’s performance thus far in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Ducks entered their opening-round series against the Nashville Predators as the heavy favorites. So far they haven’t delivered. Anaheim lost their second consecutive game, losing 3-2 on Sunday, to go down 2-0 in the […]

Alex Pietrangelo lost his glove in an unusual place

It’s not uncommon for a hockey player to lose a glove on the ice, but what happened with Alex Pietrangelo’s mitt doesn’t happen too often. Or ever, for that matter. While Steve Ott tried to get under Jonathan Toews’ skin, Pietrangelo reached in to try to pull Toews away. The captain of the Blackhawks was […]

Video: James Neal puts his stick in John Gibson’s face after the whistle

It won’t be the first time and it won’t be the last time, but James Neal was at it again with his less than clean antics. This time it involved him putting a stick in John Gibson’s mask after the whistle had blown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imOhdFj8wZk I wonder if James Neal will get past these dumb moves. […]

Video: Lightning and Red Wings end another playoff game with a brawl

I might be stating the obvious here, but I don’t think the Lightning and Red Wings like each other very much. The two teams ended Game 2 with major hostilities, and as the final horn sounded on the Wings’ 2-0 Game 3 win in Detroit on Sunday night, the teams commenced with more message sending […]

Corey Crawford on Blues: “They’re not the same team”

The St. Louis Blues had a pretty impressive road win in Game 3 against the Chicago Blackhawks. The stars appeared to be aligned against the Blues following the controversial calls in Game 2, but the club managed to find a win despite plenty of adversity in Game 3. The first period saw the Blues take […]

Video: Antoine Roussel scores from behind the net off his skate

It’s not as if the Minnesota Wild don’t have enough problems: Down 0-1 to the top seeded Dallas Stars while missing key players. Now they have to deal with goals scored from behind the net off of their goalie’s head on a puck that was kicked, yet not with a “distinct kicking motion”. It was […]

Video: Steve Mason gives up the most awful of awful goals

If you want to be generous to Flyers goalie Steve Mason, you could say that he gave up a bad center ice goal in Game 2 against the Washington Capitals on Saturday. While technically true, the goal really came from the opposite goal line and was only deflected slightly at center ice. It was a […]

Hockey fans are evenly divided on the coach’s challenge

The coach’s challenge in the NHL is a polarizing topic. Some fans want the league to make sure the call on the ice is correct no matter what. Others point out that different interpretations of the various rules present a series of complications highlighted by the coach’s challenge. Problems aside, are more fans in favor of […]

Video: Shawn Thornton chirps Cal Clutterbuck

There’s a special place in hockey for the guys who chirp. Some are better than others. Shawn Thornton may be one of the best in the business and he proved as much against Cal Clutterbuck and the Islanders. “Wahhhhh, Wahhhhh. I can’t breathe!” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnM5drlQExc&feature=youtu.be We’d love to know what else was said leading up to this […]

Video: Red Wings and Lightning brawl to end Game 2

Playoff hockey is awesome. Games are usually intense, fast and pretty heated. Such was the case in the second game between the Red Wings and Lightning. With the outcome already decided, the two teams turned their attention to the physical side of the game, engaging in a line brawl late in the third.

Travis Hamonic: John Tavares is the “best player in the league”

John Tavares had one hell of a game on Thursday, scoring a goal and two assists in the Islanders 5-4 victory over the Florida Panthers in Game 1 of their best-of-seven playoff series. Tavares’ teammate Travis Hamonic offered the highest praise possible on Friday, calling Tavares the “best player in the league.” In an interview […]

Dave Cameron felt fired for three weeks after “hurtful” comments from Sens owners

Something tells me former Ottawa Senators coach Dave Cameron and Sens owner Eugene Melnyk aren’t going to become best friends anytime soon. Speaking with Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun, Cameron said Melnyk’s comments ripping the team three weeks ago, which included questioning Cameron’s coaching decisions, were “hurtful” and made it feel like “he was […]
