There’s a lot of love for Braden Holtby in the Washington Capitals dressing room. There are big hits and then there are monstrous hits. Tom Wilson’s crushing blow on Lubomir Visnovsky falls into the latter category. Visnovsky was forced to leave the game with an injury and Wilson was sent to the penalty box for charging.

The Islanders are playing their final games inside the Nassau Coliseum prior to their move to Brooklyn for the 2015-16 season. Fans are eager to grab a piece of history before the doors close on the Isles’ time in the Coliseum, but they may be a bit too eager if Game 3 was any indication.

Erik Karlsson stepped up the physical side of his game during Ottawa’s Game 3 battle against Montreal, delivering a huge open-ice check to Nathan Beaulieu. Canadiens fans won’t be happy with this one as the initial contact appears to be Beaulieu’s head. There was no penalty called on the play.
