Top 3 most expensive games this weekend

NHL teams look to refocus after the All-Star Break and make their push for playoff positioning. As regular season games start flying off the schedule, the importance of the remaining games are amped up for teams trying not to be left out of the postseason picture. Hockey fans know best that once you’re team is in the playoff dance, anything can happen.

Let’s take a look at the value of some NHL tickets by analyzing the top three most expensive games scheduled for the month of February, according to TiqIQ.com.

2/13/2015 Boston Bruins at Vancouver Canucks | Avg: $390.57 | Get-in: $93

It’s not surprise that the Canadian hockey fans are showing their support for a Canucks team that is in a great position to make the playoffs. Add in the fact that there is no love lost between the two teams, as the Boston Bruins defeated the Canucks in the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals in seven games. A high average ticket price isn’t new for fans attending the Rogers Centre, as the Canucks had a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on February 7th with an average ticket price of $434.70.

The two teams will have not met prior to their contest on the 13th, but will play twice in a two-week span with a second game on February 24th at the TD Garden in Boston, MA. The only other times these two teams can face off is if they’re both competing for Lord Stanley’s Cup, so this is a great chance to see one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference.

2/15/2015 Pittsburgh Penguins at Chicago Blackhawks | Avg: $359.34 | Get-in: $155 | Chicago parking at ParkWhiz.com: $10

One of the last games of the week is between two premier teams from separate conference. The Pittsburgh Penguins are always an above average draw with their star power on the ice, and the Blackhawks fans will be out in full-force to prove west coast supremacy on Sunday afternoon.

Tickets are pricey, but parking doesn’t have to be.  You can find cheap spots at just $10 near the United Center, as well as O’Hare parking for as little as $7.

The stars on the ice will be worth the admission with Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang, Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa all scheduled to take the ice.

2/14/2015 Toronto Maple Leafs at Montreal Canadiens | Avg: $351.02 | Get-in: $142

The Eastern Conference’s second-best team looks to secure another home victory behind possible Vezina Trophy award winner, Corey Price. The Canadiens are first in the NHL in goals against, only giving up 2.2 goals per game thanks to Price’s skills. On top of that, two Canadian-based teams will usually put the fans in the seats. The $351.02 average ticket price is the third highest for the week of February 9th . Even though the Maple Leafs have struggled this season and are 1-8-1 in their last 10 games, the level of personal pride intensifies when two of the Original Six franchises square off.
