Rangers vs. Capitals Shifts To Washington, Lowest Secondary Ticket Prices Of Series

There were questions about how the New York Rangers would respond to a last-second defeat at the hands of the lower-seeded Washington Capitals in Game 1 of the second round of the NHL playoffs. Thirty-eight seconds into the start of Game 2, everyone knew the Rangers would be fine.

Chris Kreider’s opening minute goal, along with scores from Dan Boyle and Derick Brassard, gave the Rangers a 3-2 victory on Saturday afternoon, pushing the series even to 1-1. Henrik Lundqvist made 30 saves in a game the Blueshirts needed badly.

The series shifts to Washington when Game 3 takes place on Monday night, May 4. In Game 2, Alex Ovechkin’s spectacular solo effort in the third period was the highlight goal of the series, bringing the Capitals within striking distance late in the game. After Kreider’s quick first-period goal, Boyle got the second tally with a shot from the point on the power play. With the Rangers up, 2-0, Evgeny Kuznetsov scored on a rebound with 6:01 left in the second period to cut the lead. Brassard gave the Rangers enough cushion to hold onto the win in the third, scoring on a wrist shot from just about ten feet out.

With Washington taking one game on the road, the Rangers will have to win at least one game away from MSG to be able to win the series.
