A ticket preview for the NHL Stadium Series game at Levi’s Stadium

Outdoor hockey is coming to the Bay Area this weekend. The San Jose Sharks will play host to the Los Angeles Kings in a regular-season game at Levi’s Stadium in the 2015 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ on February 21st at 7 p.m. The in-state rivalry will move outside for the first professional hockey game ever played outdoors in Northern California.

As of February 17th, the Sharks are two points ahead of the defending champion Kings (66-64) in the Western Conference Pacific division. But the Kings have been playing well as of late, winners of their last five games. The Kings have scored 19 goals during their winning streak. The Sharks have three games this week before Saturday’s showcase and the Kings have two.

The Sharks have lost four of their last five games and have a game against the division leading Nashville Predators on February 17th. In addition to this game having two California state teams facing each other, it can have important playoffs implications as the Kings are trying to sneak back into the playoffs and defend their title.

There are still available Sharks tickets for purchase for this installment of the Stadium Series as they play host to the Los Angeles Kings at Levi’s Stadium on February 21st. According to ScoreBig.com, there are more than 5,000 tickets to the event, with an average ticket price of $213.78 and a walk-in price of $75.

We know it’ll be a hard fought game between two California state teams. We know both teams will be riding a high unusual to other games because it is a Stadium Series event. But on top of that, the Sharks are looking to avenge their embarrassing 2014 postseason exit. The Sharks went up three games to none before the Kings won four straight for the reverse sweep. The Kings were just the fourth team ever to complete this feat.

There are plenty of angles and story lines that are helping build the anticipation of the puck dropping on Saturday night. It should create another great event for the next installment in the Stadium Series.

Saturday will be the first time the Sharks will participate in an outdoor Stadium Series game, let alone hosting one.
