Most Expensive San Jose Sharks Tickets at SAP Center Is For Regular Season Finale

The San Jose Sharks were in unfamiliar territory when the regular season ended last year, as they packed up their things and went home instead of participating in the postseason. The Sharks had reached the playoffs in 10 straight seasons before last season’s 40-33-9 record, which was good for fifth-place in the Pacific division and 12th in the Western Conference, but wasn’t good enough to qualify for the postseason

With the departure of head coach Todd McLellan, who had the job since the 2008-09 campaign and recorded two appearances in the Western Conference Finals during his tenure, Peter DeBoer was chosen as the new man for the job. DeBoer was fired mid-season from the New Jersey Devils last season after a slow 12-17-7 start, but did reach the Stanley Cup Finals with the team in 2011-12, when they lost to the Los Angeles Kings.

With offseason additions including defenseman Paul Martin, goalie Martin Jones and forward Joel Ward, the Sharks appear poised to get back into the playoffs. With the season approaching, below is information from SeatSmart.com on the highest average ticket prices for Sharks games on the secondary market.

1/12/2016 | Winnipeg Jets vs. San Jose Sharks | MTS Centre | Average Price: $509.55 | Get-in Price: $150

2/9/2016 | Chicago Blackhawks vs. San Jose Sharks | United Center | Average Price: $366.60 | Get-in Price: $81

4/9/2016 | San Jose Sharks vs. Arizona Coyotes  | SAP Center | Average Price: $143.79 | Get-in Price: $41

The most expensive Sharks tickets on the secondary market for the entire season comes against the Winnipeg Jets on the road in January. That contest features an average ticket price of $509.55 and a get-in price of $150. Following their trip to the MTS Centre, the Sharks face the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Chicago Blackhawks, at the United Center for their second most expensive game. Luckily, fans who attend that particular affair have the opportunity to save on their parking in Chicago with ParkWhiz.com, which has spots available for this game starting from $21. The Jets and Blackhawks are near the top of every team’s list when it comes to secondary market prices so it’s no surprise to see them pop up on San Jose’s version as well.

For games at the SAP Center, the most expensive home game of the season is the last game on the schedule. The regular season finale is on April 9, when the Sharks host the Arizona Coyotes in a game the club hopes will have an impact on beginning a new streak in the postseason.
