Canadian battle highlights most expensive game remaining in February

With less than 25 games left on the regular season schedule, NHL teams are figuring out their plan of attack for playoff positioning or their 2015 NHL Draft status. All of the division leaders are within reach of being caught by teams behind them, with the largest division lead being held by the Anaheim Ducks, who have a 10-point lead on the Western Conference Pacific division.

The Nashville Predators lead the way in the Western Conference Central division, ahead of the St. Louis Blues by nine points, and the entire division is still alive in the playoff race. In the Eastern Conference, the New York Islanders are two points ahead of the New York Rangers in the Metropolitan division and lastly, the Montreal Canadiens are ahead of the Tampa Bay Lightning by three points in the Atlantic division.

The hottest team in the NHL is the Los Angeles Kings, who have won eight straight games. After fearing that their slow start was too much to dig out of, the Kings responded enough to the point where they should be able to make the playoffs and defend their 2014 Stanley Cup trophy.

As the NHL approaches the final stretch of the regular season, ScoreBig.com is the place to secure your tickets to watch your favorite team attack their playoff run. Using secondary market information, lets take a look at some of the games with the highest average ticket prices for games remaining in the month of February.

2/28/2015 | Montreal Canadiens vs. Toronto Maple Leafs | Avg: $382.37 | Get-in: $88 |

Even though the Maple Leafs are one of the few teams that are most likely not going to make the 2015 postseason, the Canadiens faithful will always support their team over another team for Canada. With the highest average ticket price in the NHL for the games left in February, the Canadiens are showing how ticket prices can be affected with a good product in the sports home country. As mentioned before, Montreal is leading the Atlantic division by three points and are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games.

2/28/2015 | Philadelphia Flyers vs. New York Rangers | Avg: $240.91 | Get-in: $88 | Parking in Philadelphia: $10

The Flyers are four points out of the final playoff seed in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. The Flyers and the Rangers would draw well even if one of the teams were in last place. This is one of the premier east coast rivalries in the sport. There’s no love lost between the two teams, and when both teams are in contention for the postseason, the stakes only get higher. The Wells Fargo Center will be raucous when the Rangers come into town.

2/28/2015 | Nashville Predators vs. Detroit Red Wings | Avg: $220.92 | Get-in: $92 | Parking in Nashville: $6

The Nashville Predators have been the best team in hockey from the beginning of the season, and Predators tickets on ScoreBig are becoming a hot commodity. The Predators have the most wins in hockey (41) and are six points ahead of any team. There’s no sign of them slipping anytime soon, as they’re 8-1-1 in their last 10 games. The Detroit Red Wings will be in the postseason, but will get a feel of what a playoff atmosphere will be like at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, where fans have been filling the building night in and night out as the Predators try and secure the No. 1 overall seed for the playoffs.

There’s still plenty of moving and shaking left for the standings. NHL fans will be glued to their seats seeing where the pieces fall, and what some of the matchups will be as the regular season winds down.
