It is not easy to score a goal in the NHL. Some players make it look easy, but others have tried and tried again to get their first goal only to see it never come to fruition. Sometimes being lucky is just as valuable as being good.
Paul Stastny learned that first hand when he got a little help from a referee.
The reactions from the Flames in this are pretty perfect. They know they can’t complain too much but by the same token they know that they just got hosed on the play. Stastny won’t get an easier goal then that and he has to hope that kind of luck comes back around the playoffs.
