With time winding down on the Capitals’ 5-on-3 advantage, Nicklas Backstrom patiently waited for the puck to the side of the Rangers’ net. The Capitals strung together some passes and found an open Backstrom who was facing an empty net due to Cam Talbot being caught out of position.
