Some of you may know Antti Raanta as the former backup goaltender of the Chicago Blackhawks. He was relegated to a third-string role after Scott Darling took over the backup role during their run to the playoffs. He famously said to a Finnish Newspaper that he hoped the team would lose so he could return home to Finland. Luckily he has moved on from the incident and is now playing for the New York Rangers.
It looks like he is making the most of his opportunities.
That is the definition of praying for a save. He had no clue where the puck was but he somehow was able to make the save. Kudos to Raanta. Let’s hope he has a better experience this playoffs, eh?
