Blue Jackets will name new captain next week

The Columbus Blue Jackets have decided who will be their next captain and they plan to announce the decision next week on Wednesday, May 20th. The team sent the announcement via email to season ticket holders and it was later confirmed by the media.

The Blue Jackets haven’t had a captain since Rick Nash left three years ago, but apparently the team is finally ready for a new player to wear the “C” on their sweater. Who will it be? Nick Foligno appears to be the favorite, but other candidates include Brandon Dubinsky, Jack Johnson and Scott Hartnell.
