The top 25 NHL players under the age of 25

After taking some time and painstakingly making this list, you’ll notice a couple of things. First, that Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel aren’t on this list. I disqualified them out of this discussion since they have yet to play an NHL regular season game, but once they do they will surely be on this last. Second, […]

Video: Swedish league player unties opponent’s skates, earns a penalty

It is one of the oldest tricks in the book. “Hey, your shoes are untied.” One of the more satisfying statements to make in any competitive event. For myself, it was most often used while playing basketball and football, but hockey? It would seem like the most difficult to pull off, but Oscar Milton has […]

T.J. Oshie is looking to make a big impression with his new team and he might have done that with this huge hit on Adam McQuaid. Matt Duchene throws Ryan O’Reilly a backhanded compliment

The Ryan O’Reilly/Colorado Avalanche contract negotiations were a slog. There’s no other way to say it. He was finally traded to the Buffalo Sabres this past off season to end that difficult chapter for the Avalanche. Mike Chambers of the Denver Post talked to O’Reilly’s former teammate Matt Duchene on the matter, and Duchene kept […]

Video: Jake Virtanen scores goal with face, returns with stitches

When you think of hockey, you think of rough and tumble players, you think of fighting and you think of the toughness they exhibit. So, it really shouldn’t come as a surprise when they do something that risks life and limb. In typical hockey player fashion, Virtanen returned to the game with stitches on his face. […]

How will the Los Angeles Kings attempt to keep Jonathan Quick in top form all season long? The answer, as reported by LA Kings Insider, might be by controlling Quick’s weight. Bill Ranford, the goaltending coach for the LA Kings, was asked about Quick’s weight and how a fluctuation might impact the goaltender’s mechanics. Ranford’s answer […]

Brad Marchand throws barbs at Tyler Seguin

When you are a professional athlete, you have a certain level of platitudes that you throw at the media. So when you get a good quote, man is it great for the rest of us out there. Luckily, Brad Marchand has given us such a quote. This is absolutely fantastic. Marchand is mostly known as […]

Blackhawks are still having a Patrick Kane bobblehead night for some reason

As far as the offseason goes, this is one of the oddest in recent memory for the NHL. The amount of off-ice problems this summer isn’t necessarily typical, but the severity has opened the eyes of many around North America. The player that immediately comes to the forefront for his off-ice issues this year is […]

GIF: Brett Connolly bats the puck in for a great goal

Here’s an incredible display of hand-eye coordination from Boston Bruins skater Brett Connolly. The puck deflected in Connolly’s direction and he corralled it in midair with his stick and flung the puck towards the net like a lacrosse shot. His shot beat Henrik Lundqvist and while this effort only counted as a preseason goal, what […]

Looks like the front office heard all of the complaints and criticism from not only Isles fans, but fans around the NHL. ****** The New York Islanders are officially residents of Brooklyn and with the move came a new goal horn.
