It took about 13 minutes for the Vancouver Canucks to find their first shot on goal against the Calgary Flames on Saturday night. That shot came from Alexander Edler from center ice and it somehow managed to beat Calgary goaltender Brian Elliott.
Knuckle puck!
Elliott has had a rocky year with the Flames and this goal kind of sums everything up. The Flames not only prevented the Canucks’ first shot until 13 minutes into the game, they only allowed 19 across the whole game while generating 36. Despite the lopsided shot total, the Flames fell in overtime 2-1.
Elliott has been a bit better of late, but he and the Flames have struggled to find any consistency which is why they’re struggling to stay in the playoff picture.
