The Pittsburgh Penguins are going gold.
The Penguins unveiled the new look for their upcoming Stadium Series. The jerseys are pure gold and black. Penguins players will wear gold helmets, jerseys, and pants, with black details throughout. The jerseys feature two patches, one titled “City of Champions” and the other a Stadium Series patch.
The look is called “Pittsburgh Gold” and man, it’s nice.

“I love the color,” Rust said on the team’s website. “I think I like the bright yellow helmets the most. It’s something different … something you don’t see too often.”
The Penguins will wear the jerseys on February 25 for their outdoor game against the Philadelphia Flyers at Heinz Field. The look is so good, the Pens should consider making the jersey an alternate. It would be a real shame if the “Pittsburgh Gold” was a one-and-done look.
Regardless, these threads are nice. The Penguins already have one of the best uni’s in the NHL, but with the color rush-inspired look, they’ve added another challenger.
