The Dallas Stars will have a special tribute at their home opener for the five fallen officers who were killed in Dallas in July following a police protest. All of the Stars will have a decal on the back of their helmet which honors the five officers: Lorne Ahrens, Michael Krol, Michael Smith, Patricio “Patrick” Zamarripa and Brent Thompson.

The decal is a small, yet powerful tribute to the officers who were killed. It’s always nice to see a team connect with a community on a level which goes beyond the action on the ice.
