Sergei Drozd of Dinamo Minsk proves to us that hockey can be hard. Even when you’re skating all by yourself with only an empty net in front of you with a chance to salt away a victory, as Drozd did on Monday.
It almost looked like that net had an invisible shield. But no, Drozd just whiffed on it and took himself out of the play. No matter as his Dinamo squad held on to their 2-0 lead. As Patrik Stefan once proved, that kind of mistake could have been a whole lot worse:
So yes, Sergei. You get the Patrik Stefan Award. But no, it’s not a lifetime achievement award.
