The Chicago Blackhawks have been one of the best teams in the NHL over the course of the past five years. They have done it through hard work and skilled players, such as Duncan Keith, who are playing at the highest level. Not through cheap penalties and dangerous moves like what Keith pulled against Charlie Coyle.
I don’t think Coyle wanted a new nose for the playoffs, but Keith decided to grant his wish. Keith will surely be looking at some games lost before the playoffs as an intentional slash to the face could be a very steep punishment.
