As far as ejections go, this is a weird one. When was the last time you saw a player ejected for not even physically touching his opponent? That’s what happened when Derek Dorsett was ejected after he sprayed his water bottle at Patrick Maroon.
The whole thing is kind of hilarious. The two were doing plenty of arguing from their own respective benches and then Dorsett got the idea to spray water at Maroon. Maroon instantly turns to the official in a “Are you kidding me?” and Dorsett was sent off.
What a strange way to end the year for both teams.
