Video: Ben Bishop carried off on stretcher after twisting knee awkwardly

There have been a rash of goalie injuries in this year’s Stanley Cup playoffs, and it hasn’t stopped in the Conference Final. Ben Bishop went down awkwardly after a stray stick hit him in the back of the leg, and after writhing in pain, he had to be carried off on a stretcher.

Despite the negative X-rays, that hardly looked good for Bishop. He reacted like a man who knew that his playoff season was probably over. The good news is: If it is over for Bishop, Andrei Vasilevskiy is more than capable of handling the starting goaltender duties. And if Friday’s Game 1 victory proved, it’s that the Lightning haven’t forgotten to win a low scoring playoff game on the road, so Vasilevskiy will have lots of help going forward.
