The Edmonton Oilers debuted a new mascot named Hunter who is a lynx and possibly part devil. Welcome to nightmare town!

Unveiling a new mascot is hard. Just ask the Columbus Blue Jackets when they debuted their old mascot Boomer.
Since 'Gotta See It Live' is gone, how about this for a new Blue Jackets slogan: "Hey, remember Boomer?" pic.twitter.com/wPGnfSRY

Predictably, this did not go over well. It is like some NHL teams have never heard of a focus group. They just decided to dive in.
The internet had some fun in the mascot’s honor.

I know this will be controversial, but I am a big fan of the mascot. I think it is fun and not entirely creepy like others think. It is a mascot after all, what else are you supposed to do with it?
