The 5 best hockey fights from Week 26

Crank up the Europe because it’s almost time for The Final Countdown. The regular season wraps up on Sunday, April 10th which means this is our second-to-last installment of Hockey Fights of the Week.

Fighting continues to be a rare sight in the NHL, but when the gloves go flying fans have been treated to some really entertaining scraps. This week’s collection is further evidence of that.

5. Micheal Haley (SJ) vs Andrey Pedan (VAN) – Mar. 29th

Pedan and the Canucks don’t have much to play for and his frustrations shine through in this fight with Haley. The Canucks have been beaten repeatedly on the scoreboard this year, but this is one victory for the Canucks Pedan can claim.

4. Ian Cole (PIT) vs Matt Martin (NYI) – April 2nd

Cole is pretty lucky this fight ended when it did. He’s able to wrap up Martin which likely saved him from additional punishment as it was obvious right off the bat that this wasn’t a level matchup.

3. Eric Selleck (ARI) vs Jordie Benn (DAL) – Mar. 31st

Jamie Benn is a pretty strong fighter and it turns out that Jordie isn’t too shabby either. Benn doesn’t start off too well, but he settles in nicely once he finds his groove. The ending leaves a lot to be desired, but it’s still a good fight.

2. Colton Sissons (NSH) vs Patrick Eaves (DAL) – Mar. 29th

A scrum near the benches escalated into a fight in which an angry Eaves may have crossed the line with a late punch on Sissons. This was a great battle until Sissons started falling to the ice. At that moment Eaves needed to restrain himself, but he instead unleashed a bomb which caught a defenseless Sissons.

1. Andrew Shaw (CHI) vs Mathew Dumba (MIN) – Mar. 29th

There’s a nice rivalry between the Blackhawks and Wild which is perfectly summarized by this fight between Shaw and Dumba. The Blackhawks weren’t happy with Dumba after he dropped Patrick Kane with a brutal hit and Shaw wanted to settle the score. Great fight which is narrowly won by Dumba.
