Team Europe has been the forgotten child during the World Cup of Hockey. An amalgamation of countries coming together for the sole purpose of the NHL making some money. No one ever thought they would make it out of the group round, let alone win a game. Naturally, against all odds, they have made the final. It hasn’t stopped broadcasts from showing displeasure with their style of play.
Sportsnet can throw shade all it wants. Team Europe is going on to face Team Canada in the World Cup. Can you imagine Team Europe winning it? It’ll be insanity. I almost want it to happen to watch the Canadian media lose it, just for the reactions.
