Marc-Edouard Vlasic donates $2,500 to David Backes’ charity

The third-round series between the San Jose Sharks and the St. Louis Blues wasn’t exactly a friendly one. Physical, grueling action reigned supreme and there were plenty of questionable/cheap shots after the whistle. Even though the two clubs visibly had a lot of hate, that didn’t stop Marc-Edouard Vlasic from donating to David Backes’ charity after the series wrapped up.

Backes’ charity, Athletes for Animals, is an awesome cause, but it’s still surprising to see a player from a rival team publicly donate shortly after a heated series and just before the Stanley Cup Final.

Vlasic should be commended not only for his $2,500 donation, but also for his masterful job against the Blues’ offense in the third round.
