Hockey Tweets of the Week – Week 27

Welcome back, everybody! It’s yet another edition of Hockey Tweets of the Week. Twenty Seven … which means that we’re getting pretty gosh darn close to the playoffs. And teams are getting a little weary after a long season, so they’re looking for a way to blow off some steam before the playoffs. Or in the Devils’ case, the off season.

April Fools

If they had actually worn these, that would have sold the joke hard.

Strange Bedfellows

Is there a scenario where a player would root for a team that traded him because he partied too hard?

Well, I guess so. It’s called playoff seeding.

Brad Marchand, of course, replied.

The Bruins did help out by beating the Blues, which helped Seguin and the Stars. But then they lost to the Chicago Blackhawks. On National TV. And they were down 0-6 before brunch got cold.

At least he was on your side in spirit.

(R.I.P. Tony Burton.)

Is Bill Ranford still on the payroll?

Speaking of April Fool’s Day and the Blackhawks …

There was plenty of reaction to the Duncan Keith vacation suspension earned by trying to chop down Charlie Coyle like he was a cherry tree:

And Speaking Of Drinking …

The Colorado Avalanche were eliminated from the playoffs.

That’s not tea.

But don’t worry. Avalanche fans in Denver move seamlessly from one dumpster fire to the next …

Walking Red

Steven Yeun is a huge star on a show called “The Walking Dead”. I think it’s about zombies, I’m not sure. Yeun is also a huge Red Wings fan, and gave them some support ahead of their game against the Flyers on Wednesday.

The Flyers had their feelings hurt and struck back against Yeun’s television show character.

Lucille, as in the baseball bat that killed a major character on the show, which could belong to Yeun. But the Flyers couldn’t kill him off.

And Finally …

We think we could explain the Canadiens’ collapse this season in a short highlight montage from the season:

Yeah, the Habs really missed Carey Price this year, eh?

Yup, that means it’s time to go. Wave goodbye, Erik …
