Evander Kane missed practice after partying at the NBA All-Star Game

The Buffalo Sabres have suspended forward Evander Kane for Tuesday’s game against the Ottawa Senators. Kane overslept and missed the Sabres’ team practice on Monday morning after attending the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday in Toronto.

Via the Buffalo News:

Red-hot Evander Kane scored his 16th goal of the season in Sunday’s 4-1 win over Colorado, then hopped a private jet to Toronto to attend the NBA All-Star Game in Air Canada Centre.

The party apparently went too hard and too long into the night. Kane posted some videos on his Snapchat page — which have since been deleted — of some drinking escapades after the game and was not at Sabres practice today in First Niagara Center.

Kane broke a team rule by missing practice, forcing the club to bench him for their next game. The Sabres had no issue with Kane attending the NBA All-Star Game, mentioning that there was plenty of time for him to make it to the game and return. It doesn’t help that Kane documented his drinking antics late into the night on Snapchat and then missed practice.

Meanwhile, Kane is still at the center of a sexual offense investigation about an incident which allegedly took place in December. There hasn’t been much said or disclosed about the investigation, but that ordeal combined with him now missing practice after partying won’t do any favors to his tarnished image.
