David Booth and John Tortorella only spent one season together with the Vancouver Canucks, but the two may have had a more colorful relationship than previously believed.
During their time together, the two reportedly had a heated confrontation after Tortorella believed Booth showed up late to practice (Booth disputed this claim) and at one point Torts publicly called Booth a “weird dude” which he tried to spin as a positive.
Apparently that’s enough to cause reoccurring nightmares about Torts for Booth.
Is it bad that I still have nightmares about torts?

Torts has a unique style of coaching and that approach certainly falls into the love/hate category for many players. The head coach was fired after just one season with the Canucks in what was mostly a huge disaster. Meanwhile, injuries have plagued Booth and he most recently skated over in the KHL.
The stories about Torts have been widely reported, but it’d be fascinating to hear more former players open up about his style. Booth clearly wasn’t a fan, but it’d be extremely interesting to hear why he’s still having nightmares about his old coach.
