Shortly after the news broke that Scott Gomez was hanging up his skates and calling it a career, P.K. Subban posted a nice tribute to Gomez on Twitter. Subban’s message appeared to be nothing more than a nice send-off to a veteran skater, but there’s something else going on which may not be apparent at first glance.

Some sharp fans on Twitter quickly spotted that the Montreal Canadiens logos on both helmets were photoshopped out of the image used by Subban.

Subban’s breakup from the Canadiens wasn’t a pretty one, but this is a whole other level of bizarre. Some may suggest Subban just used the first image he could find with himself and Gomez, but there’s no reasonable explanation as to why someone would have created this image for any other reason than Subban wanting to distance himself from his old club.
It’s pretty crazy someone even realized the logos were removed. It’s even crazier to think that Subban, or someone on his management team, actually took the time to remove the logos as some sort of strange stance against the Canadiens. You can’t change history, so why bother removing logos?
