A stunning update in the Patrick Kane saga and this one might be the beginning of the end. According to the Buffalo News, Kane is unlikely to face charges in a rape case involving a woman in his home in Hamburg. Sources say that there are doubts as to the viability of the defense claims.
“This case is going nowhere,” one knowledgeable source told The Buffalo News when asked about the possibility of criminal charges.
“I was told…the case will be administratively dismissed” without being presented to a grand jury, a second knowledgeable source added.
There hasn’t been a lot of news coming out about this lately, which maybe kinda sorta told you something about the direction of the case. As for what this proves, or not? This probably does mean that the claims held no merit. But it could also simply mean a lack of evidence without assuming total innocence. We’ll never, ever know for sure. But it won’t stop people from making proclamations that are way over their heads. That, I’m sure of. The other thing we do know for sure is that if this is the end of the Patrick Kane saga, it’s the end of a sad chapter for everybody involved.
