Hockey Tweets of the Week – Week 4

Welcome to our weekly Hockey Tweets of the Week feature on Puck Drunk Love. We will aim to give you the most entertaining tweets each week from hockey players, writers and fans.

Week four starts … and ends … in Montreal. Fitting, because the hockey world sometimes revolves around the city of Montreal as they have the most storied hockey franchise on the planet. (Sorry, Avangard Omsk fans.) At the beginning of the week, they demolished the Buffalo Sabres 7-2. Buffalo fans were livid.

Surely they meant the former Bengals receiver, right?

I guess not.

Multiplicity 2 … now in theatres.

The picture/gif game was strong on twitter this week. Consider:

That Torts didn’t smash the phone is a victory. Maybe he really has changed.

Now that’s the hero you deserve.

Admit it: You could listen to that loop for an hour straight … unironically.

The Roberto Luongo Tweet Of The Week

Our friend Strombone1 is betraying us. How are we supposed to have a Roberto Luongo tweet of the week when he doesn’t tweet for two weeks? Go back to July?

Well yes, we’re going to go back to July. Because this tweet asking for a birthday wish from the world’s greatest goalie was responded to in the most perfect way possible:

Good one, Strombone.

And it’s the perfect segue back to Montreal, as Carey Price was certainly not the world’s greatest goalie over his last two games, giving up 5 to Vancouver which forced the first Habs loss of the season after starting 9-0. And then, inexplicably, blowing a 3-0 to Edmonton on Thursday … Edmonton!!! … to lose their second in a row 4-3. Maybe Price has been overusing that clone.

Luckily for Price, he escaped the wrath of #HabsTwitter. Not everyone was so fortunate:

At least they didn’t look like the Anaheim Ducks …

Not even close.

That can’t be true …

I stand corrected.

Well, that’s it for this week. Halloween is on Saturday, so remember to keep your children safe. And here’s a costume tip:
