This week we have a nice selection of fights for you to enjoy. There are some close battles, some wild punches and even a fight we’re ready to label as the Knockout of the Year. If you’re not a Steve Ott fan … you’re probably going to love this week’s edition.
5. Tom Wilson (WAS) vs Jared Boll (CBJ) – Mar. 3rd
You may not believe that the Blue Jackets and Capitals are fierce rivals, but four fights in one night beg to differ. The Wilson-Boll tilt was the third scrap of the game and it was a perfect summary of the anger and hatred seen between the two teams.
4. Curtis McKenzie (DAL) vs Dmitry Kulikov (FLA) – Mar. 5th
This wasn’t the longest of fights, but it did feature an impressive effort from McKenzie. Kulikov doesn’t really have a chance and it’s over as soon as McKenzie starts throwing uppercuts.
3. Cody McLeod (COL) vs Chris Stewart (MIN) – Mar. 8th
Stewart was traded to the Wild at the deadline and it’s clear he has something to prove. He has even more to prove against his old club and that was clear in this fight with McLeod.
2. Marcus Foligno (BUF) vs Braydon Coburn (TB) – Mar. 3rd
The officials considered breaking this one up, but we’re glad they didn’t. What could have ended as a weak scrap with lots of jersey tugging and weak-hand punches instead resulted in a rousing fight with a ton of big shots.
1. Steve Ott (STL) vs Zach Sill (TOR) – Mar. 7th
Toronto fans didn’t have much to cheer about after the St. Louis Blues came in and crushed the Leafs 6-1. The lone moment which brought fans to their feet was this knockout blow by Sill on Ott. What a punch!
