Henrik Zetterberg hopes the Red Wings have hit rock bottom

The Red Wings were crushed on Saturday, falling to the Philadelphia Flyers 7-2. The Red Wings’ performance was one of their worst in recent memory and marked the team’s fourth loss in five games. The club is slumping at the worst time and their captain hopes that this is rock bottom.

Four losses in five games isn’t exactly the worst streak, but Zetterberg knows that it’s all about timing. Almost every team will go through a similar rough patch – if not worse – over the course of a season, but the Red Wings’ dismal play comes at a time in which they’re desperately trying to wrap up a playoff spot in the East.

As the saying goes, things can always get worse. Zetterberg hopes his team has seen the worst, but the immediate road ahead is tough and littered with top teams (Penguins, Blues, Lightning).
