All Panthers home games will also be broadcast in Spanish

The Florida Panthers made news last season when they started broadcasting several of their home games in Spanish in addition to English. The experiment proved to be a success and it has resulted in the team announcing that all 41 of their home games in 2015-16 will also be broadcast in Spanish.

Why is this awesome news? Because goal calls and highlights sound a bit sweeter when they’re in Spanish.

On a serious note, this is also a brilliant marketing move. The Panthers don’t have the biggest of followings (their attendance numbers prove that) and Florida has a huge segment of Spanish speakers. Why not make the broadcast more appealing for this large demographic?
