The Los Angeles Kings won’t be bringing back Willie Mitchell. The defenseman will head to free agency after the Kings reportedly said they have “no room” for him.
Can confirm that Kings won't be re-signing Willie Mitchell: "Unfortunately, no room." Was a huge part of that team.

Mitchell still has plenty to offer in the NHL even at the age of 37, but the Kings have made a decision to go with younger, cheaper players at defense. Barring a trade or a big signing, the Kings will deploy Doughty, Voynov, Greene, Regehr, Martinez and Muzzin as their top-6.
