The Detroit Red Wings are looking to trade defenseman Jakub Kindl and are apparently “very active” in talking to other teams about a potential deal. The defenseman hasn’t performed as the Red Wings had hoped and they are now attempting to remove his average $2.4 million cap hit from the books.
Here’s the report:

Kindl’s 19 points in 66 games last year weren’t terrible, but he really didn’t grow as anticipated. After recording 13 points in 41 games in 2012-13, Detroit rewarded Kindl with a four-year, $9.6 million contract, expecting he’d continue to advance as a defenseman. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case (yet) and Detroit is ready to move on from the 27-year-old defenseman.
