Randy Carlyle is probably not going to get fired

So sorry, Leafs fans.

With Carlyle probably staying put, that can lead one to assume that Dave Nonis’ job is secure. Heck, everyone’s job is secure. It’s unsure what new team president Brendan Shanahan’s strategy is, or why he is staying the course after such a tremendous backslide over the course of last season. It’s obvious that the coaching staff is not cutting it, and the team, as constructed, is not built for playoff contention. Will Shanahan decide to shake up the roster before he shakes up the bench and his front office?

Whatever his plan is, fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs are rightfully unhappy. Many assumed that Carlyle was as good as gone, with Nonis following behind. Patience is a great thing to have, but the fans’ patience has grown thin and is at the breaking point.  But hey, when you have a market who will give you money regardless of the team’s performance, what incentive is there to change?
