We've seen plenty of hockey players wear eye black. It's now expected to see NHL players sporting it during outdoor practices and games. Most guys know how to use it. Some guys … not so much. Amid the smears and eye black failures is Cal Clutterburk – King of Eye Black Failures.

Unfortunately, there was some debate over whether Clutterbuck did this intentionally and whether or not it strays into the uncomfortable topic of blackface. Clutterbuck was quick to end this discussion.
