Video: Blake Wheeler’s painful collision into an open bench door

That’s a brutal collision. Amazingly, Wheeler later returned to the game. These types of collisions are some of the scariest in the sport. The NHL curved the glass near the benches in order to soften hits around that area of the ice, but now they may need to address the issue of doors being left open during play to avoid a serious injury.
