Blackhawks have tough week ahead beginning with Devils

The Chicago Blackhawks are once again one of the best teams in the NHL.  After a slow start, they are fighting for the division lead in the Central Division with 37 points. They have held off the Nashville Predators while chasing the St. Louis Blues. The Hawks go on a road trip to start the week, which takes them to the east coast. The Central Division is not the only thing the Blackhawks are leading in. They have the highest home attendance in the NHL.  At 21,513 fans per game, Chicago could arguably be the best fan base in hockey. Unfortunately, the Blackhawks only play two home game this week. It will end up costing you if you look to get Blackhawks tickets from ScoreBig when they return.
12/09/14|  @ New Jersey Devils| Average Price: $69.35| Get-in Price: $26.00
The New Jersey Devils have never been known for having high attendance. While the Prudential Center is one of the nicest arenas in the league, not even the high-flying Blackhawks can raise the price of tickets too high. Despite bringing Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews to the Rock, the average price for tickets is still only $69.35. Devils fans probably doubt that their team can score on the NHL’s top-rated defense. Chicago has allowed the least amount of goals per game this season in the NHL. If there are desperate Blackhawks fans in the area, they can get into the building for as low as $26.00. The price has decreased 21% in the last 7 days.
12/11/14| @ Boston Bruins| Average Price: $174.33 |Get-in Price: $68.00
In a battle of “original six” teams, the Bruins and the Blackhawks will battle in the Boston Garden.  There is also a chance that Boston defenseman Zdeno Chara could return for this game. Chara has been out since October 23rd with a knee injury. Boston may not need him, as they have won five of the seven games that he has missed. Blackhawks tickets are currently averaging at $174.33 for this game. Even the worst seats are going for $68.00. The goalie matchup in itself may be a reason to shell out the money, with Tuukka Rask going up against Corey Crawford. However, Crawford’s status remains doubtful, which could be causing this game to trend downwards by 16%.
12/13/14 @New York Islanders| Average Price: 101.19| Get-in Price: $33
The New York Islanders welcome the Blackhawks to the Nassau Coliseum for the last time in its existence.  After this season, they are moving to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.  For now, the Hawks will have their hands full with Jonathan Tavares and the surprise team of the East.  They are currently one point outside the Eastern Conference lead.  They are also 10-3 at home this season, which makes the Hawks job even tougher. Chicago’s top-rated defense and goaltending will be tested when they face this group of talented forwards. The trio of Tavares, Kyle Okposo, and Brock Nelson lead the charge of the 8th best scoring offense in the NHL. Also, goaltender Jaroslav Halak was on a 12-game winning streak before losing to the St. Louis Blues on Saturday. Even though Nassau is known for being a less than stellar arena, NY Islanders tickets to this game are still averaging at $101.19.  Fans can still get into the building for a relatively cheap price, with the get-in price being $33.
12/14/14 vs. Calgary Flames| Average Price: 248.97| Get-in Price: $95.00
You can tell that the fans couldn’t wait for their favorite hockey team to get home.  The average ticket price for the first game in the United Center in nine days is $248.97. Calgary will take it’s fifth rated offense against Chicago’s top-rated defense. The Blackhawks will have their hands full with Calgary defenseman Mark Giordano who has 21 assists this season. It will cost just about $95.00 just to get into the door for this one.  It helps that their first home game in over a week will happen on a Sunday.  Prices have increased by 11% for this game in the last 7 days.
12/16/14 vs. Minnesota Wild| Average Price: $213.15| Get-in Price: $68.00
Two days later, the Blackhawks welcome Zach Parise and the Minnesota Wild to the Windy City.  Chicago will have to figure out a way to score on the power play, as Minnesota is killing 89.5% of their penalties, which is second best in the NHL. Chicago is only converting on 18.3% of their power plays, which is 17th in the league. This game won’t hurt wallets as much, with average ticket prices at $213.15.  To get in the door, one only needs to pay $68.00, which is much less than the previous game. While it may be a lower priced game, prices have increased 7% in the last 7 days.
