The St. Louis Blues posted plenty of memorable highlights from their 5-1 win over the New York Islanders on Thursday night. Despite all of the goals and big saves, the best moment of the night won't show up in the boxscore. The biggest takeaway was a shot that never even happened.
Patrik Berglund wound up for a big one-timer. Everything looked to be going according to plan, but the St. Louis forward lost his balance and fell on his face while going through the shooting motion.
Incredible. Great footage of Berglund's no-timer courtesy of RegD7.
As expected, his teammates poked fun at him and laughed at his tumble as soon as he skated back to the bench. Berglund was a good sport about the whole incident, blaming the ice during his intermission interview. He later Tweeted:
I'm glad that I could make the entire scottrade center laughing tonight! You are welcome, great win boys! #faceplant
