Hockey Fights of the Week: 12/9 – 12/15

We've covered the Boston Bruins pretty heavily here on PDL over the last few weeks. First there was the Thornton incident (you know, this thing which Thornton is appealing) and then we discussed Brad Marchand mocking the Canucks. You might be sick of the boys from Boston by now, but we promise that the top fight in this week's installment is worth bringing up the Bruins just one more time.

5. Jordan Nolan (LA) vs Frazer McLaren (TOR) – Dec 11

An LA-TOR game isn't one you see too often these days, but that didn't stop the two sides from showing some animosity towards one another. Then again, Toronto is usually willing to drop the gloves with just about anyone.

4. Brian McGrattan (CGY) vs Dylan McIlrath (NYR) – Dec 15

You could make a strong argument that McGrattan is the best (and potentially only) thing Calgary fans have to cheer for. Unlike the team he plays for, McGrattan destroys the vast majority of the opponents he faces. Here the story is the same as he pummels McIlrath.

3. Chris Stewart (STL) vs Dalton Prout (CBJ) – Dec 14

Lopsided bouts are fun to watch, but the most legendary hockey fights are the balanced ones. Stewart controls the first half of this one before Prout comes on strong at the end. Either way, this is a great scrap between two teams who unfortunately don't have the pleasure of seeing each other too often now that Columbus has shifted to the East.

2. George Parros (MON) vs Eric Boulton (NYI) – Dec 14

Is it just us, or has Parros not been the same since he shaved off his moustache back in November? Well, it might have had more to do with the concussion he suffered at the start of the year, but we think he was tempting the fighting gods by shaving off that beauty. Here he takes on Boulton and though he appears to own the fight, Boulton lands a big blow to send Parros down to the ice.

1. Milan Lucic (BOS) vs Luke Gazdic (EDM) – Dec 12

This fight is awesome. It features punches to the head and body, shaky camera work and a noisy crowd. This fight earns major bonus points for occurring right next to an image of Popeye on the boards.

Will this altercation be remembered as one of the year's best?
