I’ve outlined extensively why I think the Vancouver Canucks have taken a step back with the moves they’ve made under Jim Benning. They’ve made some pretty puzzling moves recently – whether it’s signing Derek Dorsett and Lucas Sbisa to long-term extensions, giving up on Eddie Lack for almost nothing or adding salary and losing assets to trade for Brandon Sutter, only to sign him to a pretty bloated extension – yet one Calgary Flames fan on Twitter is grateful for them.
Twitter user @Fake_Steinberg tweeted out this afternoon he had ordered Canucks general manager Jim Benning some thank you flowers for the offseason moves he’s made. The message in the order reads “Thanks for everything you’re doing with the Canucks. It has been the greatest offseason I can remember.”
Order submitted. And this isn't even close to enough. ๐๐๐ pic.twitter.com/CKAXxerVzB

Whether or not the flowers were actually ordered – they were pretty expensive as the receipt lists the total cost at over $40 Canadian dollars – this is a very funny, lighthearted way to poke fun at Benning and the Canucks-Flames rivalry. It’s been a while since the Flames have been the better team in the West, so why not take shots when you can?
Honestly, Benning would probably graciously accept the flowers, because let’s be honest: this offseason has bordered on disastrous for him. The club really is lacking vision, so maybe the flowers will help clear his mind and get things back on track.
