You may remember at the trade deadline, Jarome Iginla had a decision to make. He was so close to signing with the Boston Bruins that fans on Twitter were throwing a party. Then he talked with Sidney Crosby and all of a sudden he was a Pittsburgh Penguin. Bruins fans enjoyed watching their team sweep the Penguins out of the playoffs, and apparently that swayed Iginla as a free agent. He signed a one year deal with the Boston Bruins today worth $6 million.
It's enough for Bruins fans to say "Tyler who? And didn't we have some guy named Horton?" Much can be made about who the Bruins lost, but who they've added makes them dangerous. Iginla may be on the waning end of his career, but it's still Iggy – and a one year contract is a smart, no risk move for the Bruins. If it works out, then maybe Iggy stays. If it doesn't he's a nicer, cuddlier version of mercenary Marian Hossa.
