Claude Giroux leaves game with cut to back of left leg, avoids serious injury

A scary moment occurred during the Philadelphia Flyers-Carolina Hurricanes game, as Justin Faulk accidentally stepped on the back of Claude Giroux’s left leg:

The Flyers did not call the injury anything other than a lower body injury, but Giroux left the ice unable to place weight on his left leg. Faulk appeared to step on Giroux right above his skate. The situation looked pretty bad on the ice and Flyers fans were trying to mentally cope with the idea that Giroux may miss significant time, but miraculously it looks like Giroux escaped serious injury.

Giroux likely has his Kevlar socks to thank.
