Here’s a story which won’t play a role this season. The NHL will be adopting wider hash marks on the ice in 2014-15. They tested the wider marks and have since approved them for the upcoming season. What does this mean for all of us? Not much, but it’s not your imagination if you think the hash marks are a bit further apart.
The NHL will use wider hash marks this season. The change — from 3 feet wide to 5 feet 7 inches — survived a test run in exhibition.
