Gary Bettman recently proposed that the members of the NHLPA and the owners meet without the commissioner and the head of the NHLPA, Donald Fehr. You know, to hash it out between the actual interested parties, not between the representatives of those parties. The players seem a bit hesitant about this, especially if all owners aren't represented.
Why not just streamline the process? Have the two representatives go toe to toe in a mano-a-mano battle royal? I think that sounds like a swell idea, and so do the Grand Rapids Griffins. Witness this scene from an intermission from last Friday's game against the Texas Stars:
Looks good to me!
