The blog blogspot.AlexOvetjkin.com is reporting that Alexander Ovechkin will be heading to the KHL to play for his former club Moscow Dynamo. He had 36 goals and 32 assists over 152 games between 2001 and 2004 for the club; chances are good that number would be more appropriate for one season with them now in the free-wheeling KHL. He did play with them through the lockout, scoring 27 points and earning the Russian Superleague title with the team.
It had been rumored that Ovechkin was going to sign with Dynamo quite some time ago, until the team told his mother/agent that they "didn't need him." Apparently their point of view has changed drastically.
From Pavel Lysenkov comes this:
If Ovechkin will sign with Dynamo, you'll see two games Kovy (Kovalchuk in SKA) vs Ovy in New York (Jan 2013). #caps

Anyone have some extra plane fare so I can head to Brooklyn this winter?
And, in case you were wondering, yes there IS a Dynamo video tribute to Ovie.
