Robin Lehner of the Sabres has given us an early save of the year candidate against the Canadiens on Saturday night as he robbed Montreal’s Alex Galchenyuk, who had a wide open net … briefly.
Most impressive was that the save came in overtime, and that it was followed by a Zach Bogosian goal to win it just 18 seconds later for Buffalo. It’s about as impressive and clutch a save you’ll see in a game not played in April, May, or June.
Galchenyuk will surely have that one in his nightmares for a good long while.
